Running without a heater

During the winter, I don’t usually go on many runs outside because I am not a fan of the cold air. Not to mention, I don’t want to risk slipping on unseen ice or snow. This weekend, there was an unseasonably warm day. While the winter usually consists of days thirty degrees or below, it was hovering around fifty degrees outside. This isn’t a summer day by any means, but it was warm enough for me to give a run a try. About halfway through my run, a cold rain started. Unfortunately, I was still about twenty minutes away from my home. It started off as a sprinkle, but then it turned into a full on downpour. I ran through the rain full speed ahead. When I finally got home, I was freezing cold. I changed out of my wet clothes as quickly as possible and parked myself in front of the heater. Even though the run had me sweating and out of breath, my body was cold and damp. I turned up the heater to full blast and sat in front of it for about thirty minutes. After about an hour, I finally adjusted the thermostat to a lower setting. I sat enjoying my warm, cozy home for the rest of the night. I am so glad that I recently updated my furnace. It just made the house that much more warm and comfortable, and trust me, that’s exactly what I needed! The house used to operate on a furnace that was over thirty years old! I was so used to it that I didn’t even realize it wasn’t working as well as it could be. When I finally updated out of a precautionary measure, I realized what I’d been missing. Although, I don’t think it fully soaked in how much I loved the new furnace until after that run.
