As a mother raising several adolescents in the age of technology, I make sure to ensure my children are getting plenty of time outdoors away from the screens of their electronic devices. Every one of us all love camping, & heading out into our community to find new things to do. Every one of us visit the ice skating rink, a pottery studio, & the local swimming pool fairly often, but the place the people I was with and I frequent most has got to be the community’s playground! Unlike other playgrounds with only basic equipment, our playground was entirely built as a large community project years ago, built by volunteers in the community finally working together for a common cause. It was professionally designed with a fantasy castle theme, & it’s simply gorgeous. However, I’ve noticed is that the public restrooms are not well taken care of. One of the greatest problems it faces, aside from graffiti artists tagging the walls, is that its air quality is really horrendous. My eldest child once complained that she has to hold her breath in the lavatory there, & I can’t blame her. The building does not have air conditioning, so on warm afternoons it gets sweltering in there, which makes the respected public lavatory odors so much worse. I guess that the building needs an Heating & Air Conditioning idea installed in order to supply cooling to the lavatories, & an air purification idea to help ensure the air is clean. Every one of us should be raising the standards of public amenities everywhere, not settling for such exhausting conditions. I fully intend to raise my problems over the playground’s lavatory air quality during the next neighborhood council meeting, & hope to do my space to make a change for the better for the sake of my children & everyone else’s.
