I don’t know what the heater needs

Last year, the Winter season was uncommonly long, cold plus ruthless.  The temperature surprisingly decreased below cold as early as November plus the whole neighborhood had six inches of snow on the ground by Halloween.  It was mandatory to bring up the gas furnace much earlier than usual, when we did that it ran steadily for seven straight weeks. The neighborhood was bombarded by half a dozen blizzards, which brought in a lot of snow, exhausting wind chill, plus temperatures down to thirty-three below zero.  Despite doing my best to secure my home, there were drafts and frosty areas all over the place. If you stood near a window or even a door, anyone could feel the freezing air trickling in. The gas furnace was working non stop which means it was working maximum capacity. Some nights were so cold that the heating plan struggled to keep up with demand.  I decided to close off the vents plus shut the doors to certain rooms, hoping I could contain the heat to a centralized living space. At night, my family depended on electric blankets to keep warm. During the afternoon, the we would dress in clothes that included than 2 layers, moderate socks plus slippers. At the end of the season I paid an ungodly amount for my heating, I have to make some changes before next Winter.  I need to add caulking plus weatherstripping around the windows and doors, improve the insulation in the walls as well as ceilings. Firstly I need to make sure the gas furnace is guaranteed that it will work at its best. This fall, I plan to consult with professional repair to prepare the heating plan for the upcoming workload. I’m hoping that a thorough cleaning plus tuning will promote superior airflow plus energy efficiency.  I can’t spend another Winter trembling in my home.
